ALASA: Agricultural Insurance Accelerates Technological Innovation to Tackle Climate Challenges

The 18th International Congress “Protecting the Future of Agribusiness: Securing Tomorrow,” organized by the Latin American Association for the Development of Agricultural Insurance (ALASA) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), revealed a strong trend toward innovation in agricultural insurance as a direct response to the impacts of climate change on the Latin American agricultural sector. Executives, specialists, and authorities pointed out that traditional models need to evolve quickly to ensure the sustainability and resilience of rural producers in the face of the increasing frequency and intensity of extreme weather events.
